This is really a park for kids and their parents. There are no thrills (except maybe 'Test Track', the park's major roller coaster) and no surprises: everything is sweet and child-compliant. Unfortunately, there are no mentionable innovations either: Legoland has an Egyptian-themed ride in Indiana Jones style, a Jungle Cruise with LEGO elephants and a castle roller coaster featuring LEGO animatronics that look even less life-like than your lego figures back home. Visited 2017. Another Legoland park with the same old rides, but this one comes with a lot of shades and a huge central dome showcasing the usual collection of local & international architectural marvels built with Lego bricks. While the dome is a bit depressing, Legoland Dubai is a good place to cool down from the other parks in summertime...

Visited 2017. A Lego-themed water park with no soul. Highlight is that there is water in the desert. You could also just take a shower back at your hotel...

As evident from my other reviews I am not such a big fan of the Legoland parks. Lego's success was based on creating a toy which was as versatile and limitless as the imaginations of the children playing with it. The Legoland theme parks, by contrast, show a distinct lack of imagination on the part of their designers. Visited 2014. Without the powerful support of the Lego brand, this would be considered a very small and unambitious water park, featuring three slide towers in various colors, a small wave pool and a lazy river with floating Lego bricks...

Legoland has a very well-defined target group: on my visit I encountered a ratio of mothers with children aged 3 to 8 that would cause a landslide election result for a party committed to better education. Endless carousels, rollercoasters with maximum speeds of less than 40 mph and flume rides that appear to be in slow-motion grace the landscape around picturesque Windsor next to London's hectic Heathrow airport, the busiest in the world.
